RIVER RUN AND CRAFT FESTIVAL

Fall's just around the corner-surprised-and so is the Tenth Annual Rappahannock River 3 Mile Run/Walk. Participants whose registrations are received by race day will enjoy an early-bird rate of $15 and are guaranteed a race T-shirt.

"It's becoming a local tradition," said race director Mavora Donoghue. "Whether you walk or run, it's healthy fun for the whole family."

The 3 mile event takes place on Saturday, October 11 at 8:00 a.m. Race-day registration costs $20 and will be held from 7:00 to 7:45 a.m. in front of St. Margaret's Hall on Water Lane. The flat, fast course begins and ends at St. Margaret's School and takes participants through Tappahannock's historic district. The event also will include a "Water Lane Dash" for the younger set.

The craft festival is held on Friday, October 10 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in front of Brockenbrough House on the St. Margaret's School campus. Vendors feature unique gifts, home décor and accessories, clothing and jewellery.
