Chaplain Johnson is the spiritual heart of St. Margaret's School. In addition to teaching Old Testament, New Testament, and Comparative Religion classes, she leads the community in worship three mornings a week and makes herself available to any student or faculty member who needs her counsel. Her ability to turn the day's scripture reading into a sermon on contemporary, relevant topics allows our students to examine and reaffirm their own spiritual beliefs in their everyday words and actions.

Affectionately known on campus as "Dr. J.," Chaplain Johnson's extensive experience in education prepared her to minister to our community. She has served at the University of Richmond as the Director of Academic Advising for the Department of Athletics, Dean of Summer School, and Assistant Professor of Motor Learning and has taught the Core Class. She also taught at Syracuse University as Assistant Professor in both the Division for the Study of Teaching and the Division of Guidance and Counseling.

She lives on campus with her cat, Eddie.
