In joining the SMS faculty Ms. Sheridan is reconnecting with her Southern roots. After her childhood in Memphis, Tennessee, she was educated in Omaha, Nebraska. She loves many of the customs and traditions of the South, but feels right at home in the Midwest as well.

After earning two undergraduate degrees and spending a year student and substitute teaching, Ms. Sheridan moved to Roanoke to attend graduate school, where she earned her M.F.A. in Creative Writing at Hollins University. She is a dorm parent and lives on campus.
