Head of School Welcome
Welcome to St. Margaret’s School! How does a school founded in 1921 provide the programs and environment for a girl to become the young woman who will thrive in her 21st century life? By keeping the promise we have always made: to educate each girl as an individual within a community committed to appreciating, challenging, and supporting her.

In my 22 years as head of school, my focus has always been on gathering caring educators committed to keeping this promise and working with them to develop courses, programs, and ways of living in community that bring it to life. We have cherished strong traditions, embraced learning along the way, and now our daily lives here with our girls incorporate what we’ve learned. And the learning will never stop!
Look more deeply through our website, and you will discover how we do this. From the academic schedules developed individually for each girl to the opportunities for engagement in leadership, arts, athletics, and the spiritual life of the community, you will find out what we value and how we live and learn together.
Hear it in the words of three 2012 graduates,
Being at St. Margaret's, I learned the importance of teamwork, honesty, and good sportsmanship. I learned how to work as a collective unit and incorporate multiple ideas into one.
I am deeply thankful for my teachers’ sincere dedication and devotion. They have believed in me, guided me in my academic growth, and helped me achieve my goals. I’ve been accepted to my first choice college!
I have valued the close-knit community at St. Margaret’s the most. We are like one big family that is supportive of each other. I learned here that you could be whoever you want to be. Everyone at St. Margaret’s is unique and each person chooses a path that is right for her.
Welcome to an education for life, where just three words convey what our girls experience - Belong. Believe. Become. I encourage you to visit and experience St. Margaret’s for yourself! I look forward to welcoming you at the door.
Sincerely,

Margaret R. Broad
