Academics come first at St. Margaret's School. With an average class size of 7, there is no chance of getting lost in the crowd. Each of our classrooms are arranged to the teacher's preference to encourage discussions and participation. Classrooms are housed in St. Margaret's Hall, The Cottage, The Woolfolk Center, and the Community Technology Center.
The Library, College Counseling, and the Office of the Director of Studies are all located in the Viola H. Woolfolk Center. There are a variety of study spaces, two computer labs, and a large meeting room also available on campus.
St. Margaret's School has three dormitories. Each dorm houses members of every class level and two or more faculty members who serve as dorm parents. All of the dorms are equipped with a kitchen, lounge area with a television, group study spaces, and laundry facilities.
McCuan Hall is the newest dorm and offers suite style living. Two girls share a room and four girls share each bathroom.
Anderton House, or better known as "A House", and Latane Hall each feature water front views and traditional dorm layouts. These dorms are equipped with single and double rooms and girls share hall style bathrooms.
One of the most unqiue things about St. Margaret's School is the location. The campus sits on the banks of the Rappahannock River. This mile wide water way flows into the Chesapeake Bay and provides the St. Margaret's community with learning opportunities and a beautiful setting for many of the school traditions.
St. Margaret's School offers three seasons of athletics. On campus we have the Ball Memorial Gymnasium, a fitness center, soccer field, recreational swimming pool, tennis courts, and river access. One mile from campus is our 42 acre athletic complex. This area contains a cross country trail, two soccer fields, two softball fields, and river access through Hoskins Creek.
St. Margaret's also utilizes facilities including a golf course and regulation swimming pool in our greater community.
At St. Margaret's, art students can express themselves in our Art Studio, Pottery Studio, and Digital Photography lab. Music students have three multi use practice rooms and a Music Studio. Our theater performances and musical revues are held in the Ball Memorial Gymnasium.
The Chapel is located in St. Margaret's Hall. We have Episcopalian services here on Monday and Wednesday mornings and Sunday evenings. St. Margaret's School is governed by the Dioceses of Church Schools.
The Margaret Robinson Broad Dining Room is located on the first floor of the Community Technology Center. The building overlooks the Rappahannock River. Three meals a day are served buffett style in the dining room. Formal events such as a Thanksgiving Dinner, Athletic Banquets, and International Festival are held in the dining room every year.
