Endowment

Growing St. Margaret's endowed funds is vital to St. Margaret's continued financial stability and future viability. It provides funding for student scholarships, faculty salaries and enrichment opportunities, and the feasibility of multiple school programs. For many donors, it also is a meaningful way to leave a lasting legacy through the Sara Morriss Society.

With a relatively small endowment of $5 million, St. Margaret's must guarantee that it can keep up with the growing costs associated with professional development, outstanding classroom instruction, and financial aid. Increasing endowment income will not only help operate and maintain facilities, it will also provide need-based financial aid and help underwrite special academic, extracurricular and professional development programs. The endowment will also enable St. Margaret's to ensure that faculty compensation is competitive, resulting in greater faculty retention and job satisfaction.

To learn more about endowment support, create an endowed fund or make a contribution to an existing fund, please contact Director of Development, Sarah Wilson '95 at 804-443-3357 or email swilson@sms.org.

Ways to Give

There are many ways to give back through a gift to St. Margaret's. The most common ways to give are...

With a one-time gift,

donors can contribute once per fiscal year, July 1-June 30.

With a pledge,

donors can make their commitment with a pledged amount to be paid in full by June 30.

With a recurring gift,

donors can set up payments that follow a schedule to total their annual pledge. Each donation has the flexibility to be part of a payment plan. A $250 pledge can easily be paid over a 10-month period at $25 per month.
