We are currently seeking candidates for the following positions:

International Program Director

Full-time, 10-month Position

St. Margaret’s School is conducting a search for an energetic and innovative faculty member to direct the International Program and teach ESL classes. This position will require that the individual embrace the boarding school culture as well as our large and diverse international student population. This is a full-time, 10-month benefited faculty position.

Qualities of a successful candidate will include:

  • Experience leading international student academic and residential programming
  • Ability to provide support and guidance for international students as they adjust cutlurally and to the unique aspects of a boarding school
  • Commitment to bolstering student achievement through various teaching methods and to helping international students obtain English language acquisition stkills necessary to work independently in the mainstream college preparatory curriculum
  • Willingness to work closely with fellow teachers in the ESL department and school administrators to ensure academic integration, support the total school program and further the mission of the school
  • Belief in the transformative power of a girls’ school
  • A master’s degree or Virginia teaching certification is preferred
  • Ability and enthusiasm for coaching welcome

It is preferred that the individual live on campus and have interest in serving as a hall adult in one of the residence halls.

Athletic Coaches

History Intern

Full-time, 10-month Position

St. Margaret’s School is conducting a search for an energetic and innovative faculty member to teach as a history intern. This position will require the individual serve as a hall adult, living on campus in one of the residence halls. This is a full-time, 10-month benefited faculty position.

Qualities of a successful candidate will include:

  • Experience teaching high school history is preferred
  • Enthusiasm for creative teaching, professional growth and applying technology in teaching
  • Belief in the transformative power of a girls’ school
  • Virginia teaching certification is preferred
  • Ability and enthusiasm for coaching welcome

Math Teacher

Full-time, 10-month Position

St. Margaret’s School is conducting a search for an energetic and innovative faculty member to teach math. This position will teach a variety of math offerings and will be expected to engage fully in school life. In addition, the position requires that the individual serve as a hall adult, living on-campus in one of the residence halls. This is a full-time, 10-month benefited faculty position.

Qualities of a successful candidate will include:

  • Aptitude for teaching upper level math
  • Enthusiasm for creative teaching, professional growth and applying technology in teaching
  • Belief in the transformative power of a girls’ school
  • A master’s degree or Virginia teaching certification is preferred
  • Ability and enthusiasm for coaching welcome

Life Science Teacher/River Program Coordinator

Full-time, 10-month Position

St. Margaret’s School is conducting a search for an energetic, innovative, and student-centered faculty member to teach life science courses, provide classroom and co-curricular environmental education, and coordinate a program designed to incorporate and promote St. Margaret’s location on the Rappahannock River. This position requires the individual to embrace boarding school culture, further relationships and grow opportunities for partnerships and collaboration with community organizations. This is a full-time, 10-month benefited faculty position.

Qualities of a successful candidate will include:

  • Experience teaching high school life science courses
  • Familiarity teaching environmental electives to showcase our riverfront location
  • Enthusiasm for creative teaching, professional growth and application of technology in teaching
  • Ability to plan and lead annual river orientations for all students and overnight “River Days” educational and recreational camping trips that immerse students in learning experiences
  • Belief in the transformative power of a girls’ school
  • A master’s degree or Virginia teaching certification is preferred
  • Ability and enthusiasm for coaching welcome

We prefer the individual live on campus. Interest in serving as a hall adult in a residence hall is a plus.
