Minimester

Minimester occurs between second and third trimester, when faculty teams teach one-week courses outside core subject areas, giving students the opportunity to learn and explore topics or a destination for an focused period of time.

Creative inquiry, experiential learning, and studying interdisciplinary topics are all core to our Minimester program. Course options are diverse and the experience is an exciting and interesting learning opportunity. However students choose to spend Minimester, they find the experience broadens their world view and ensures they have fun along the way.

2019 Minimester Sessions

While our seniors were away, working on their Independent Study Projects around the world, 2019 Minimester sessions took a group of students and staff on the road for an RV adventure in Nevada and Arizona, and other Scotties engaged in experiential learning across our region. Self-defense training, Next Steps and college visits, behind-the-wheel driver’s ed, soaring imaginations in A3+ art class and Junky to Funky, CSI forensics with a visit from a drug-enforcement dog and fingerprinting all made learning exciting and fun.
