Daingerfield Merit Scholarship

The Daingerfield Merit Scholarship is awarded to new and returning St. Margaret's students who make the greatest contribution to the school in many ways.

The Scholarship is open to new and returning day students who live in the Rappahannock Valley. The Scholarship is awarded annually and a student may re-apply during every year of enrollment at St. Margaret's School.

The Admission and Financial Aid Committees as well as the Chaplain choose the recipients of this Scholarship. Scholarships are assessed annually. Students who are selected for the Daingerfield Scholarship may also receive need-based financial aid.

Legacy Scholarship

Our St. Margaret’s traditions have meant so much to so many over the life of the school. The new Legacy Scholarship was created to honor and share our traditions by providing grant opportunities to daughters, granddaughters and nieces of St. Margaret’s alumnae.

Legacy Scholarship applicants who demonstrate commitment to growth in every area of their lives have the chance to earn up to a 25% renewable discount on tuition.

To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must:

  • Apply as a new day or boarding student
  • Have a mother, legal guardian, stepmother, grandmother or aunt who attended St. Margaret’s
  • Complete all application requirements by February 10 and submit, in writing, an interest in pursuing the Legacy Scholarship, which includes the name of the alumna, class year and relation to the applicant
Applicants cannot qualify for more than one merit scholarship per year; however, they may apply for need-based financial aid.

The Legacy Scholarship will renew annually, as long as the recipient remains in good academic and social standing with the school.

Book Awards

We are pleased to offer qualified applicants in select schools the opportunity to earn a scholarship to attend. Schools who were selected demonstrate parallels between their mission, vision and values and those of St. Margaret’s. Because of these similarities, girls from these schools have the greatest likelihood for success at St. Margaret’s and the greatest possibility to contribute to the life of the school.

A $10,000 renewable scholarship is awarded to applicants who demonstrate commitment to growth in every area of their lives.

To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must:

  • Apply as a new boarding student from one of the Book Award schools.
  • Complete all application requirements and obtain one additional letter of recommendation from their school principal or guidance counselor by February 10.

Applicants can also apply for need-based Financial Aid.

Scholarships are renewable annually, as long as the recipient remains in good academic and social standing with the school.
