Performing Arts

Music is a big part of life at St. Margaret's, and our program suits girls with a variety of interests and talents. The Music Department is equipped with a variety of instruments, including a grand piano, practice rooms, a Music Library, and is well-suited for both group and private instruction. Our Treble Choir receives basic theory, vocal pedagogy, and exposure to music from Classical, Romantic, Modern and Popular styles. This class is open to students in any grade level. The Ensemble offers select students an opportunity to work at a proficient level in grades 9-12.

Each year, we stage a major theatrical production that involves student directors, actors, and crew The Drama program uses a mirrored dance studio for acting workshops and rehearsal space, and the wings of our stage are used as a classroom, green room, and technical theater workshop. Drama instruction and Technical Theater are taught in the afternoon activities period and are open to students in all grade levels.

Dancers may study with a nearby studio, the Ann Catherine Cross School of Dance.

Our 2018 theatrical performance was the musical, Annie JR. Over 40 student cast members and crew staged two free performances for the St. Margaret's community and the general public. What a great show!
