Be St. Margaret's

We coach and support student-athletes to Be St. Margaret's; to become part of a team and belong to something bigger than themselves. To believe in what they can achieve and not be afraid to fail. To push themselves to become better people, better students, better teammates, and skilled athletes who are prepared to succeed in life. Whether you’re preparing for college athletics or just looking to try something new, there are plenty of opportunities here for you to push yourself and have fun.

St. Margaret's competes in the League of Independent Schools (LIS) and the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA).

Join us for the 2018 St. Margaret's Soccer and Softball Invitational Tournament on April 14 at the St. Margaret's School Athletic Complex, 1300 Sycamore Drive, Tappahannock, VA 22560. Athletics News

Dedication of the 2018 Softball Season in memory of Brian Edward Johnson P'18 took place on April 3 at the St. Margaret's Athletics Complex. Mr. Johnson is remembered for his belief in the school, his support for our Athletics program, and its Be St. Margaret's philosophy. His daughter, Christine is a senior and a Scottie softball player.

In other news, congratulations to Kristen Berry for being selected to the All-LIS volleyball team and to our Athletic Director, Coach Walker for being named volleyball Coach of the Year for the fourth consecutive time! They exemplify what it means to Be St. Margaret's.

Check out the article on our Athletics program on page 20 in the latest issue of Thistle.

Athletics is about more than the outcome of a practice or game; it's about coaching our girls for life. The building of one's character through teachable moments on the field, on the court, in the pool, or in the locker room is how you
Be St. Margaret's. It's where qualities like self-confidence, resiliency, teamwork, empathy, mental toughness, self-control, and respect for others are developed - almost identical to our
To Be Statements, further supporting our long-standing mission and philosophy. That's the big picture.
